2nd Public Hearing Notice

The City of Vernonia is completing a Sewer System Repair and Improvements project funded with Community Development Block Grant funds from the Oregon Business Development Department. The location of the project is: 1001 Bridge St, Vernonia, OR 97064. It is estimated that the project has benefited at least 2,696 persons of whom 54.80% are low or moderate income.

The project addressed undersized sanitary sewer pipes, addressed sanitary overflow issue at Clatsop Street manhole, addressed system wide capacity with a new pump station and removed fish passage barriers on Rock Creek and Bear Creek.

A public hearing will be held by the city council at 6:30pm on May 5, 2025 at City Hall, 1001 Bridge St, Vernonia, OR 97064.

The purpose of the hearing is for the city council to obtain citizens’ views about the project and to make comments about the local government’s performance. Written comments are also welcome and must be received by May 2, 2025 at 1001 Bridge St, Vernonia, OR 97064. Both oral and written comments will be reviewed by the city council.
