Second Public Notice and Notice of Public Hearing

The City of Vernonia is completing the CARES ACT Food Pantry Food project funded with Community Development Block Grant funds from the Oregon Business Development Department.  The location of the project is 547 Weed Avenue, Vernonia, OR, 97064. 

It is estimated that the project has benefited at least 500 people of whom 100% are low or moderate income. A public hearing will be held by the Vernonia City Council at 6:30 pm on January 8th, 2024 at 1001 Bridge Street, Vernonia, OR 97064. The purpose of the hearing is for the City Council to obtain citizens’ views about the project and to take comments about the local government’s performance. 

Written comments are also welcome and must be received by January 5th, 2023 at 1001 Bridge Street, Vernonia, OR 97064.  Both oral and written comments will be reviewed by the City Council. The location of the hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities.  Please let Stephanie Borst at 503-429-5291 ext. 105 know if you need any special accommodation to attend or participate in the hearing.  

More information about the Oregon Community Development Block Grant program and the project is available for public review at 1001 Bridge Street, Vernonia, OR 97064 during regular office hours.  Advance notice is requested.
