Notice of Highway 47 Chip Seal Project

When: July 6th - July 19th, 2021

Where: Highway 47 from the junction with Highway 26 to the Vernonia City Limits and Highway 47 from Knott Street to Mile Post 53.5 (roughly 4 miles north of Scappoose Vernonia Highway).

Details: ODOT has a highway improvement project planned for Highway 47. There will be at least 12 trucks hauling rock, 3 rollers, and traffic control (including flaggers and a pilot car). The hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Additionally, there will be sweepers every day of the project removing excess rock from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

After the chip seal application is completed a crew will put a final fog seal on the road which is a moving operation. This is expected to take 2 days. Final striping has not been scheduled yet.

Please be patient while ODOT works to improve the highway system and extend the life of the existing asphault. Allow yourself extra time in your commute and be watchful for ODOT workers.
