Vernonia Park Facilities Closed

The City of Vernonia has closed all playgrounds, sports courts, campgrounds, park restrooms and picnic shelters as of Monday, March 23rd.The decision follows direction from the Oregon Health Authority and State of Oregon Governor’s Executive Order No. 20-12 to maintain social distancing of at least six feet during the COVID-19 public health and economic crisis.
Signage announcing COVID-19 closures in Vernonia will be posted today at:
- Playgrounds Basketball Courts
- Dog Parks
- Picnic Shelters
- All Sports Fields (Closed for group activities, open for walking and jogging)
All City parks and trails will remain open for exercise and walking, but community members should take social distancing seriously and maintain at least six feet separation from others. Adults are encouraged to help children who need extra support to practice social distancing.
